The 2011 World Congress on Advances in Structural Engineering and Mechanics

http://asem11.cti3.com/

After successes of the series of International Conferences, the First World Congress on Advances in Structural Engineering and Mechanics (ASEM’11plus) is being organized to provide a greater variety of topics and to promote discussion and collaboration between the participants. The ASEM'11plus congress will combine the existing International Conference and offer a new series of International Conference.

  - Advances in Structural Engineering & Mechanics (ASEM) (1999, 2002, 2004, 2008)
  - Steel & Composite Structures (ICSCS) (2001, 2004, 2007, 2010)
  - Computational Technologies in Concrete Structures (CTCS) (2009)
  - Advances in Interaction & Multiscale Mechanics (AIMM)  (2010)
  - Smart Structures and Systems (ICOSSS)
  - Earthquakes and Structures (ICEAS)
  - Ocean System Engineering (ICOSE)

The combined event provides a greater variety of topics to pick up from and will create an excellent opportunity for participants to look into what is going on in allied fields and to get some idea on what the future developments in the fields will be.  Thus the congress will be a premier international forum that brings together academics and practicing engineers to exchange frontier research results and emerging technologies in the broad topics of Structural Engineering and Mechanics. You are cordially invited to attend this interesting event.

International Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring 2011

http://structure.stanford.edu/workshop/

Theme of Workshop
The purpose of the workshop is to assess the current state-of-the-art technologies in this field and to discuss and identify key and emerging issues in research and development that are critical and unique in structural health monitoring.

The workshop is also intended to promote communication exchange and cross-fertilization between multiple disciplines.

Technical presentations will be made by invited and selected distinguished speakers, and plenary discussions on the future direction and the “road-map” will be organized.  Potential applications of the techniques to military and civilian structures will be discussed.  An exhibition area will be available for product and technology demonstrations.

Major topics for the workshop include, but are not limited to:
Sensor and Actuator Development
Sensor Network/System Integration
Signal Processing/Monitoring/Diagnostics
Prognostics/Health Management/CBM+
Modeling/Simulations/SHM-based Design

9th International Symposium on Cable Dynamics

E-mail Print PDF

The 9th International Symposium on Cable Dynamics (ISCD 2011) will be held in Shanghai (China) on 18-20 October 2011.
Following the eight previous symposia held in Liège (1995), Tokyo (1997), Trondheim (1999), Montréal (2001), Santa Margherita Ligure (2003), Charleston (2005), Vienna (2007) and Paris (2009), the Organizing Committee has decided to hold an ninth edition of this International Symposium on Cable Dynamics in Shangai (China) : ISCD’11

Scope of the ISCD’11 Symposium

This series of symposia is dedicated to practical problems that have been observed and/or measured on cable structures. ISCD is devoted to interchange of ideas between several engineering disciplines relative to power lines, guyed masts, cable-supported bridges, etc. (any original subject will be appreciated, including nano, micro systems or biological concern)

Scenarios to be considered for such structures are movements (from very small to huge ones), wrap-up, rupture e.g. by material fatigue and unacceptable or catastrophic response due to natural forces (of which some fraction may be motion-dependent).

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is of growing interest and new contributions would be welcomed, especially in regard with moving cables and wake effects.

Measurement systems (including real time) are a key point.

Contributions on fatigue diagnosis and state of ageing as well as tool for preventive maintenance are clearly favoured.

Industrial practice is particularly welcomed in our symposium.

13th International Conference on Wind Engineering, July 10-15, 2011

The International Conference on Wind Engineering (ICWE13) is the forum to present new knowledge of  wind engineering and wind energy and to exchange experiences. Scientists, academicians, technologists, architects and engineers from all over the world will meet to tackle new challenges regarding sustainability and wind climate. Important themes for the conference include wind climate assessment, safety of structures, wind siting to harvest the wind and environmental issues. For a broader overview see scope. The organising committee invites everyone to join our exhibition or participate in this upcoming event in Amsterdam.
